Newlyweds- Nick & Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson, a confirmed virgin at the age of 22, married Nick Lachey On October 26, 2002 when both of their music careers were just starting to gain World Wide recognition. While Nick Lachey was in the popular boy band 98 Degrees, and Jessica Simpson had several big hits, she still was playing a back role to the up and coming Brittney Spears and Christina Aguilera within the teen pop culture.



Soon after Jessica's new album "sweet kisses" was released, Jessica started touring with the 98 Degree's band and played Nick's love partner on stage for the song "My Everything" when they soon took their act off stage and began dating for over 2 years.

In 2003, their reality TV show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, starring Jessica Simpson and her new husband Nick Lachey began airing on MTV and ran 41 very successful episodes which catapulted them into the spotlight and quickly made them both a household name.

Agreeing to have MTV document their every move, the Newlyweds Nick and Jessica
obviously had quite the interesting lifestyle as they both tried to juggle their new marriage as we'll as both their careers that was now catapulted to page one news.

In the three seasons the "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica" was aired on MTV, the very first episode will go down in History, that to this day, still remains their most rememberable show. While Nick is trying to watch a football game on TV, Jessica eating a bowl of "Chicken of the Sea", Jessica asks Nick, "Is this chicken that I have, or is it fish?"
LoL, yes that simple yet startling comment instantly gained the Newlyweds National Attention and even a commercial spot for selling, you guessed it, "Chicken of the Sea" TUNA.

The Newlyweds won a People's Choice Award in 2005 for Favorite Reality Show before MTV stopped filming. Nick and Jessica divorced shortly there after in December of that year.

The question has always remained, is Jessica Simpson REALLY the dumb blond she sometimes portrayed on the Newlyweds, or was this just an act to keep the ratings high and a reason for viewers to keep coming back?
