Jury selection to begin in lawsuit by 'Desperate Housewives' actress

Told by attorneys today that a settlement is unlikely, a judge scheduled jury selection for Feb. 27 in former "Desperate Housewives" star Nicollette Sheridan's lawsuit alleging the show's creator hit her on the head with an open hand on the set in 2008 and fired her when she complained.

Overview

Nicollette Sheridan (born November 21, 1963) is a British-born American actress. She made her debut in the American soap opera "Paper Dolls" in 1984, but shot to fame when she was cast in CBS' "Knots Landing" in 1986. In 2004, Sheridan joined the cast of "Desperate Housewives" as Edie Britt, who was killed off in February 2009.
