She made her debut in the American soap opera "Paper Dolls" in 1984, but shot to fame when she was cast in CBS' "Knots Landing" in 1986. In 2004, Sheridan joined the cast of "Desperate Housewives" as Edie Britt, who was killed off in February 2009.
