Nikolay Davydenko has pulled out of the Austrian Open because of a muscle strain in his left leg. Paul Capdeville will replace the Russian for Tuesday’s first-round match against Diego Junqueira. Last week, Davydenko withdrew from the Madrid Open citing a left leg injury. He has won the Austrian Open three times in the last four years, when it was known as the Hypo Group tournament. Nikolay Davydenko defeated Arnaud Clement 7-6 6-2 to reached the third round of the Barcelona Open Banco Sabadell. Davydenko saved five break points in a tight first set before clinching a one-set lead by winning the tie-break 7-2. The Russian then stepped up a gear in the second set and converted two of six break points to wrap up victory in one hour and 56 minutes. The Russian, who is the third seed, will face the winner of the match between Feliciano Lopez and qualifier Santiago Ventura in the next round.
