I remember when I first downloaded Ghosts I-IV, I thought it was the coolest thing I’ve heard since In Rainbows‘ second disc. But I know a lot of people weren’t too thrilled to pay for an instrumental album, no matter now dark an ominous it was (though I reckon almost everyone downloaded the 9 free tracks, pfft people are so cheap). Nine Inch Nails and Trent Reznor (leader of the "band", which mostly consists of only him, but can vary) have always been at the forefront of advocates for a better music industry. First with Trent's constant remarks about how CDs are extremely overpriced.
