Nine Inch Nails “Discipline” Radios and iPods Near You

I remember when I first downloaded Ghosts I-IV, I thought it was the coolest thing I’ve heard since In Rainbows‘ second disc. But I know a lot of people weren’t too thrilled to pay for an instrumental album, no matter now dark an ominous it was (though I reckon almost everyone downloaded the 9 free tracks, pfft people are so cheap). Trent Reznor felt your pain and is continuing to stick it to the man by giving away his new single (which — I can imagine — can do great on iTunes) for free.

Some of you may have heard a new Nine Inch Nails track on your radio today. You will be able to download your own copy of the track right here later tonight for free - stop back in a few hours.

What else is going on? Hmmn. We’re considering a real-time live webcast of me signing 2,500 copies of the just-arrived, super-ultra-mega-deluxe GHOSTS edition all day Thursday. These really turned out great and I can’t wait to sign EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM.

Oh and that little “real-time live webcast of me signing 2,500 copies of the just-arrived, super-ultra-mega-deluxe GHOSTS edition all day” kind of… really happened. Yeah, take that Radiohead.

Okay, so the video is really only 31 seconds long and only shows some guy signing one copy of the “just-arrived, super-ultra-mega-deluxe GHOSTS edition”. Who’s to say Trent really signed all 2,500 copies? Let’s go even more conspiracy-crazy than NIN’s Year Zero — who’s to say that’s even Trent Reznor. Oh I went there.

Even still, NIN are quickly become one of my favorite new blog phenomenons.
