Southwest Airlines Responds to Florida Teens
Saying their claims are not true, Southwest Airlines responded via You Tube video to accusations by Florida teens Nisreen Swedberg and Sarah Williams (see related story on Feb. 26 below) that a flight crew was rude to them last week. The two claimed that their flight from Tampa to Los Angeles became an ordeal from the minute they stepped on the plane because they were decent looking girls. Flying in coach, Swedberg said she asked for water, but was told she'd have to wait. When water was delivered to passengers, Swedberg said the flight attendant purposely ignored her. Williams, meantime, said a passenger was in a bathroom for at least 15 minutes and was rude to her when she knocked on the door to use it. The two reportedly exchanged profanities, but Williams says the flight attendant singled her out and not the other passenger. Swedberg and Williams went on to say that they were removed from the flight when it landed at LAX by four uniformed police officers, then questioned by the FBI. The two were released and reportedly said that they had banned from flying Southwest again, a claim the airline denies. Swedberg reportedly took another airline home to Florida, while Williams remained in California. In its response, Southwest says it would be out of business if it turned to banning pretty people. Southwest claims the two young ladies were vulgar, aggressive and threatening. In researching this subject online, we can say that Ms. Swedberg and Ms. Williams are definitely losing in the popular vote. We'd say more than three-fourths of the blog comments on different sites are negative towards the duo. Our view is that while they may be a tad spoiled, a tad full of themselves, etc. they are attractive young women and we weren't on the flight with them. Having flown countless times on Southwest and other carriers, we know that flight attendants for the most part do a good job, but some can become a bit overzealous in their jobs, thinking they're also air marshals. At the end of the day, no one was hurt and Ms. Swedberg and Ms. Williams are free to fly again. Will either or both girls try and extend their 15 minutes of fame like Kyla Ebbert did last year? Ebbert was flying last year when she was told she was dressed too sexy for Southwest. Ebbert turned that notoriety into appearing on Playboy.com. So what do you think?Comments
