A community portal about Nissan Skyline GT-R with blogs, videos, and photos. According to Wikipedia.org: The Nissan Skyline GT-R is an iconic Japanese sports coupe in the Nissan Skyline range. Dubbed "Godzilla" by Wheels magazine in Australia when released there in 1989, it was rated by many motoring magazines, including the well-respected Wheels, as providing performance and handling equal or superior to that of European icons like the Porsche 911 and the Ferrari Testarossa, at a considerably lower price. The Skyline's home-market competitors have included the Honda NSX, Toyota Supra, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, Subaru Impreza WRX STi, and Mazda RX-7.

Instantly the Nissan Skyline became the must have car for the playstation generation. Would you pay $70,000 for a Nissan? That, it seems, is the $70,000 question, and it’s what the Nissan GT-R currently costs in Japanese yen. When it arrives on our shores in mid-2008, the price will start at $69,850 plus destination and gas-guzzler charges which have yet to be determined. Stretching the price range of a brand is nothing new: Ford went into the stratosphere with the $153,000 GT and managed to sell every copy. But the Nissan doesn’t have the 40-odd years of Le Mans–winning... Read Full Story
You’ve likely already read the various rumors flying around the Internet about the GT-R’s steep ownership costs; that it has a speed limiter unless you’re at a Nissan-approved track; and that tires can only be replaced four at a time. We heard these things, too, courtesy of a tire supplier to GT-R, so we called up Nissan and got to the bottom of it. Most of the gloom-and-doom hype is unfounded. See below for our questions and Nissan’s responses.
