A community portal about Nissan Skyline GT-R with blogs, videos, and photos. According to Wikipedia.org: The Nissan Skyline GT-R is an iconic Japanese sports coupe in the Nissan Skyline range. Dubbed "Godzilla" by Wheels magazine in Australia when released there in 1989, it was rated by many motoring magazines, including the well-respected Wheels, as providing performance and handling equal or superior to that of European icons like the Porsche 911 and the Ferrari Testarossa, at a considerably lower price. The Skyline's home-market competitors have included the Honda NSX, Toyota Supra, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, Subaru Impreza WRX STi, and Mazda RX-7.

If we told you there was a variant of the iconic Nissan GT-R putting out around 600 horsepower, gobs of weight-saving technology and fuel economy that can hit 25-30 mpg on the highway would you be interested? What if we told you that the added power came via the same 160 hp electric motor that rested beneath the beautiful sheetmetal of the...

When the next-generation Nissan GT-R arrives a few years from now, it is expected to be powered by a hybrid powertrain. The new hybrid supercar is expected in about 2013 and the powertrain will likely be derived from the system that will debut next year on the Infiniti M. The version in the GT-R will likely be a lot more powerful, with a 160 hp electric motor and net output from the twin turbo V6 and electric drive...
Can the Mitsubishi Evo GSR measure up to the mighty Nissan GT-R on the track? It can if you give it a little more muscle, as we did with our 430-hp Project Evo.
The carbon crisis may end up as the defining struggle of our time. But so far the discourse has been a decidedly wonky mix of policy and engineering. As part of its preparations for the 2011 launch of the Leaf, its all-electric vehicle, Nissan asked TBWA to craft a campaign that would express an artier, more reflective side of the shift to a non-carbon future.
The digital division of TBWA, in turn, recruited Richard Saul Wurman, founder of...
With global concern over the unstable oil prices, automakers are again looking to package “fun” in smaller, more gas-efficient ways – enter the return of the upcoming Nissan 240SX. Like Toyota and Subaru’s partnership-created FT-86 sports car and Honda’s upcoming CR-Z sporty hybrid, Nissan is reportedly yet again working on the return of its small [...]
Nissan is on tour promoting its upcoming electric vehicle, the Leaf, in select cities across the U.S. The 5-passenger EV will become available in December 2010, and faces many challenges in fostering a supporting vehicle charging infrastructure and creating consumer-friendly financing options, but thus far they seem to have a well-conceived plan. During an event in Portland this week I spoke with Nissan senior manager for corporate planning...

Car names are fun to play with. Take the 2009 Nissan Rogue, for example. The Rogue doesn’t play by the rules; It colors outside the lines and lives outside the box. I could go on and on. In this case, though, the name doesn’t quite fit because the Nissan Rogue doesn’t really do any of those things. It’s cute, perky and practical. The Nissan Rogue is no rogue. Sorry, naming department.
The Rogue is a super-cute compact SUV/crossover. It’s...

The Nissan Leaf electric car made its Canadian debut in Vancouver today as part of the Nissan Leaf Zero Emission tour. Vancouver is the first Canadian city to commit to providing the vehicle plug-in requirements necessary for recharging electric vehicles. The Leaf is expected to go on sale in Vancouver first, in 2011.
High Gear Media has at last driven the 2011 Nissan LEAF electric car.
Okay, admittedly it's a stretch to say that we actually drove the LEAF, but we did take a quick spin in a vehicle that demonstrates, according to Nissan, how the LEAF will perform and feel behind the wheel.
In an unusual--and brave--move, Nissan is taking an engineering ..
