Lowry Out Until May

HOT
Noah Lowry will have surgery today on his forearm, hopefully erasing the cause of his recent control issues. Sadly, he's expected to miss at least the first month of the season.

The San Francisco Giants lefty was diagnosed with exertional compartment syndrome, described as a rare muscle compression condition which is more commonly found in the lower leg muscles of runners... not the forearms of hurlers.

Manager Bruce Bochy says Lowry, 27, will most likely be ready to resume throwing in 2-3 weeks, but certainly won't be able to pitch in a big league game until late April at the earliest.

Lowry, who is absolutely adorable, went 14-8 with a 3.92 ERA over 26 starts for the Giants last season.
