According to police in eastern India, a pregnant woman recently suffered burns after the battery of her Nokia mobile phone exploded within minutes after attaching the handset to charge. The explosion triggered a ball of fire according to the pregnant 30-year-old Kishori. The injuries to the pregnant woman were not serious and she was discharged from the hospital after receiving first aid. The battery was purchased with the handset in 2004 and exploded about 10 minutes after it was plugged in to be charged.
