Evan D’Angeles, starring as the New Hunchback of Notre Dame Starting July 24

Evan D’Angeles replaces George Andrew Wolff in the extended run of the new musical adaptation of Victor Hugo’s, “THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME” as the deformed bell-ringer Quasimodo. Styx’s Dennis De Young penned the book, music and lyrics and Bailiwick artistic director David Zak staged this musical that has been playing to sold-out audience since it began performances.

Evan has been a notable performer in Broadway, having worked in Miss Saigon, Pacific Overtures, and Children & Art: Sondheim’s 75th Birthday. He has performed in the national tours of Cats and Rent where he played Angel for six months in Chicago. Off-Broadway/Regional credits include Wall to Wall Sondheim, the West Coast Premiere of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Fame (Jose Vegas), Tommy, The King and I, and Imelda, a new musical from East West Players among others.
Also joining the cast are Gregory Franklin, as the tormented priest Frollo, and Doug Storm as Phoebus for the extension period. Original principals Liz Pazik as Mahiette and Dana Tretta as Esmerelda continue their roles.New ensemble cast includes Rachel Renee, Mark LeBeau, Jessica Lauren Fisher, Kelli Clevinger and Kendel Lester. New musical director is Robert Ollis.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame plays Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 PM, and Sundays at 3:30 PM through August 31st at the Bailiwick Arts Center, an award-winning leader of Chicago’s off-Loop theater scene since 1982. The address is at 1229 W. Belmont Ave. Chicago, IL 60657. Tickets are $25.00 on Thursdays, $35.00 on Fridays and Sundays, and $45.00 on Saturdays through Aug 31.
