Two years ago while attending a junior recruiting event at the University of Cincinnati, Rivals.com national recruiting editor Jeremy Crabtree filed away a couple of thoughts in terms of the school's football facilities.  

Notre Dame junior wide receiver Golden Tate made two more All-America teams Tuesday - Sporting News and the Associated Press - making him the Irish program's 32nd unanimous All-American and first since cornerback Shane Walton did so in 2002.

SOUTH BEND - Between recruiting, hiring assistant coaches and finding out where the executive washroom is, new Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly actually found some time to do some Christmas shopping.  

SOUTH BEND -- Fact: In the big time college football world there are haves and have-nots. Fact: Head coaches' salaries at Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I-A) schools are among the most obvious indicators of the chasm between the two.  

SOUTH BEND -- It came literally in the first few days of Jack Swarbrick moving into the Joyce Center, perhaps before he had even located the coffee maker. His first coaching hire as Notre Dame athletic director.

Brian Kelly has been announced as the new Notre Dame football coach but the formal announcement will happen at a news conference on Friday. Kelly, 48, replaces Charlie Weis who was dismissed as the Notre Dame coach last Monday. The incoming Notre Dame coach has been the coach at the University of Cincinnati since December of 2006.

It has been said that the three toughest jobs in America are: 1. President of the United States 2. Mayor of New York City 3. Coach of the Notre Dame football team. Unless you've been living in a football-proof cave, spent your time since Black Friday at the mall or just didn't have any interest in the Notre Dame coaching search, there are many things that have become known about Brian Kelly since he entered the Charlie Weis replacement picture.

Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly posted on his Twitter feed Tuesday that he had not interviewed with Notre Dame. Kelly declined comment to the AP when asked about the Notre Dame coaching vacancy and reports that he could be the next Fighting Irish coach.
