Last week, a little boy with autism wandered off after his dog into the Nova Scotia woods. He had no coat or boots, and the snow was deep. Despite his parents' quick response and a massive search effort, it took two days to find the boy. When he was finally found, his hypothermia was so severe that, just yesterday, he died.

The Alberta court ruled that the province's cap on non-pecuniary general damages for minor injuries was constitutional.
