Anthropology professor Michael Wesch has the awesome job of studying YouTube and thinking about what it all means. We all know and love the Gecko from the Geico Insurance commercials and it was only a matter of time until an ad agency took the gecko and created a few viral spots. Three parodies were created from three of the most popular YouTube clips, the laughing baby is now the laughing gecko, the Numa Numa guy does his dance with a gecko dancing in the background and lastly the gecko takes a picture a day for two years. If you have a TV you have probably seen the Geico commercials with the stalkerish bundle of cash that is "the money you could be saving with Geico" I'm no fan of these commercials, as they have always struck me as creepy. I much prefer the caveman series . What I am impressed with is the video of the Gecko, Kash, and the Numa Numa guy. It's a great tie in with a video that has over 32 million views, and a dancing Gecko is always good for something! Read Full Story
