Long before George W. Bush became President of the United States, he was a wild party animal with a penchant for drinking, he freely admits. Since becoming a born-again Christian teetotaller and ascending to become the world's most powerful man, Dubya has tried to forget his misguided youth. Twenty-two years after quitting alcohol, Bush's past is coming back to haunt him in Oliver Stone's biopic of the President, the aptly-titled W. Interestingly enough, as I've mentioned in some of my previous posts, politicians may somehow be similarly situated with celebrities. Elections or not, some politicians cant help but be in the limelight. This is unavoidable. Josh Brolin is the hot celebrity online by playing the role as the 43rd US President George W. Bush in Oliver Stone’s ‘W.’ Sounds like politically related, huh? But definitely not. In addition to that, Josh Brolin will be visiting Saturday Night Live and will be hosting... Read Full Story

Not that I think
Josh Brolin
will do a bad job, but I would've been very interested to see this other casting
choice for
Oliver Stone 's
W . Of course, with Stone as the source, you
should take it with a grain of salt. He's been known to stretch a truth here and
there.
Stone told
GQ.com that they went through a lot of actors
before settling on Brolin, including one rather surprising choice.
"I needed a star [to get financing]...and Josh Brolin
was not a star. Originally I... Read Full Story

Click to enlarge I have made it pretty fucking clear recently that I have completely changed my view of Dubya, where I used to think he was a prick because he was a thick idiot running the world I actually now love him. Why the change? Well look who used to run England John Major, we then had Tony Blair and now Gordon fucking Brown, seriously what a bunch of boring wankers. Now... Read Full Story
I have to admit that I haven’t seen an awful lot of Stone’s films so I can’t really comment. Stone’s latest is about A chronicle on the life and presidency of George W. Bush (Brolin). It looks difficult to say whether this will be a hit or a miss, but I don’t think it looks bad at all. The film also stars Elizabeth Banks (Laura Bush), Ioan Gruffudd (Blair), Thandie Newton (Condoleezza Rice), Ellen Burstyn (Barbara Bush), Jeffrey Wright (Colin Powell), Richard Dreyfuss (Dick Cheney) and... I wouldn't say I'm reversing field on
W. , but the new trailer finally begins to show
us more layers of the story, which is what I've been harping on for months. And because I believe most of this film rests on
Josh Brolin 's
shoulders, since he is playing the most recognizable man in the world, I have to
say this latest look at
Oliver Stone 's new movie is encouraging.
Brolin looks good here as George W. Bush. One nice
addition is the clip of
Toby Jones as an evidently... Read Full Story
Wow, I don't know what to think of Oliver Stone's latest quagmire W . I've known of this film for quite some time, I guess the only thing that kept me semi interested was the fact that none other then Josh Brolin is playing the lead; George W. Bush . Yep, George effing Bush. Well, it's off topic but it made me laugh, so here's the teaser trailer to W, a biopic about Bush. Josh Brolin as Dubya and Elizabeth Banks as Laura Bush. Can
Josh Brolin pull it off? He may kind of look the part, but that's
ultimately not the most important thing in capturing the essence of a historical
figure. And to capture one who happens to be the most scrutinized man in the
world is even more difficult.
We get a brief snippet of Brolin as
W. towards the end of this new
commercial, and he sounds pretty dead on in that moment. I think it's safe to
say that the entire success or failure of this film is up to Brolin. If it's a... Read Full Story
