Taylor Phinney is competing right now in the Men's Individual Pursuit at the Velodrome in Beijing. This kid is only 18 years old, but he seriously rocks. Although he didn't medal (bummer); keep your ears and eyes open for this kid in future major cycling events, including the Tour de France. News on the net says that Taylor is spending A LOT of time hanging with the US Gymnasts (the girls of course.) Go Taylor! Just stay away from those underage Chinese Gymnasts. Note: How the heck can your date of birth change? Apparently it's possible in China . Those 77 pound bodies can ... Read Full Story

Track cyclists Mike Friedman, Sarah Hammer , Bobby Lea and Jennie Reed have since apologized for their actions, saying their choice to wear the masks was in no way meant to be an environmental or political statement, and they did not intend to insult China. But, in the aftermath of ... Read Full Story

Chalk this up one up in the "Oh Hell Yeah" section of your score cards: Taylor Phinney's 3000-meter individual pursuit short course sprint time of 3 minutes 16.65 seconds is a new junior world record. As you might recall, Phinney, competing in just his 7th race, defeated Holland's Jenning Huizenga to take his first World Cup victory. That was in January of 2008 and it seems as though the 17-year-old from Boulder, Colorado just keeps getting faster. In fact, it stands to reason that by the time the Olympics roll around, science will need to invent a special bicycle so he doesn't tear a ... Read Full Story

Plugged in to MP3 players, this new breed among urban cyclists is not just a nuisance, but a menace – mainly to themselvesBeware! There seems to be a new type of cyclist out there – not the Lycra lout but the iPod zombie. I must declare an interest as a keen cyclist, pedestrian, train passenger, driver and, indeed, iPod user. However, like drinking and driving, I don't think iPods and cycling mix. On my bike, audible warnings are just as...
