The tennis competition at the 2008 Bejing Summer Olympics will be held from August 10 to August 17 at the Olympic Green Tennis Center.


Tennis at the Olympics is competed in by both men and women as individual and doubles events. A National Olympic Committee can enter up to six men and six women, with a maximum of four entries in the individual events and two pairs in the doubles events. Athletes are allowed to compete in both singles and doubles events.

The tennis competition is a single elimination tournament, the two losers in the semifinal round will compete for the bronze medal.

The ITF has released a 140-page publication called "Journey to Beijing – Tennis celebrates the Olympics" . Over 40 of the world’s leading tennis players took part in the ITF project and were photographed dressed as athletes from other summer or winter Olympic sports to help promote the 2008 Beijing Olympic Tennis Event.
