I am co-authoring a book with Kate Anthony entitled, Therapy Online [a practical guide] . I love to write but writing on a deadline is different. Especially when the writing is some 40,000 words. But I am typing typing typing with breaks of course for coffee and the occasional pastry (shhh!). On 2/10/09 17 social networking websites came to an agreement which helps: protect privacy of underaged users, curb cyber-bullying, and curb “grooming”. The agreement is strictly exclusive to Europe. Whether the United States will create an extensive agreement, replicating this one, time will only tell. Among the participants in this agreement are Social-Networking giants MySpace and FaceBook. Google and Yahoo are also reportedly taking part in the agreement, as well as various other websites. BREAKING NEWS 2/2/09 : Virginia : A new law in Virginia could require all schools within the state to adopt extensive Cyber-Bullying policies, which include on and off school grounds Cyber-Bullying. The law also gives Districts a template / model of an already existing Cyber-Bullying policy, to either help the District with their own Cyber-Bullying policies, which are up to the states standards, or to adopt the template policy which covers, among other things, on and off school Cyber-Bullying and helps schools with legal issues regarding Cyber-Bullying and the First Amendment.
