She is also an influential book critic, an Academy Award -nominated actress, and a magazine publisher. According to Forbes magazine, she was the richest African American of the 20th century and the world's only Black billionaire for three straight years. Life magazine has ranked her as the most influential woman of her generation and Time magazine has ranked her as one of only four people to have shaped both the 20th century and the early 21st. Hard to imagine a world without The Oprah Winfrey Show on weekday afternoons.
But that’s exactly what the world’s going to be like after Sept. 9, 2011, which will mark the end of Winfrey’s 25th season as host of her eponymous daytime talk show—and her last show altogether.
“Yes, it’s true that she will be ending her show in September 2011,” says a rep for Harpo. “She will be speaking about it on tomorrow’s live show.”

Oprah Winfrey will announce on her show Friday that “ The Oprah Winfrey Show ” will come to an end on Sept. 9, 2011 , after 25 years, according to ABC’s Chicago affiliate, KABC.
