Temps hit 90 as heat spell continues

HERE COMES THE SUN: Charles Beal photographed sunrise in the Santa Ana Mountains.
November will begin as October ended — far warmer than normal. The National Weather Service forecast that today’s inland highs would reach 85 while the coast clocked in at 75. Those figures have already been exceeded, partly due to a dry, offshore flow in some areas. There’s also virtually no sea breeze at the coast. Forecasters say Monday will be just as hot, if not hotter. Temperatures aren’t expected to return to seasonal levels until Thursday. There is no rain in the seven day forecast. Sunset will be at 4:58 p.m. today.
