Oregon State University, the home of the Beavers, is a university in Corvallis, Oregon. They offer undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees, as well as research opportunities. Making it one of two (the other is Cornell) universities to receive all four designations.
Oregon State Upsets No. 1 USC

(Photo by Jonathan Ferrey/Getty Images North America) In the biggest upset so far of the college football season, No. 1 University of Southern California, fell to the unranked Oregon State Beavers Wednesday night, 27-21.
The Trojans fell, and they fell hard, but the Beavers relished in their victory, as fans rushed the field. For the first time in 41 years Oregon knocked down a No. 1 team, and they were ready to celebrate.
Did USC not learn anything from last season's painful loss to Stanford? Apparently not. Hopefully after this embarrassing loss they finally learn that you can never just walk on a field, and expect to have a win handed to you.
Now, three games into the season, the Trojans have a serious blemish on their record, which is a shame, especially after they demolished Virginia and Ohio State. The fact that the remainder of their season is filled with non-ranked teams doesn’t help them either. They can pretty much say goodbye to their hopes of once again nabbing that No. 1 spot
So what went wrong Thursday night? Really, a combination of everything. Some can say the Beavers were just on their game, which wouldn't be wrong. But really, they just played. They brought an intensity into the game Thursday night that USC lacked, and because of that, they walked all over the Trojans.
The Rodgers brothers stood out for Oregon State, with freshman Jacquizz running for 186 yards and two touchdowns, and older brother James making six catches, for 36 yards and two scores.
By halftime the score was 21-0 for the Beavers. But, USC was quick to answer back. During the first drive of the second half, quarterback Mark Sanchez launched a 26-yard scoring pass to Ronald Johnson.
Trojan receiver Damien Williams brought the score to 21-14 in the third quarter, but in the end the Beavers prevailed.
Oregon’s season record is now evened out at 2-2. USC’s overall record rests at 2-1, with their No. 1 rank drifting farther and farther away.
