Exclusive Interview with writer Demetria Lucas!

Demetria Lucas has to be one of the flyest woman that I have ever met in my life. Known across this great city as the "black Carrie Bradshaw", readers can tap into Ms. Lucas through her blog (my personal favorite). Demetria tends to write what most women are thinking but are to scared to say. As a writer/editor for one of the top black womens magazines in the world (you can take a guess at which one) she is unapologetically bold, honest and driven. Demetria is the NYFab! inspiration of the... Read Full Story

Client No9

No way out to Mr Eliot Spitzer, ‘a hypocrite hoist with his own petard’ . What you do in a secret room will be shout out from the roofs mate, haven’t you heard that before? And that includes room 871 of the Mayflower Hotel in Washington too. Before you start ‘witch hunting’ make sure to get rid of any witchcraft in your own personal life first. There has been no forgiveness for Mr Spitzer, he has in the past vehemently threatened folks in wall street with outraging fury , a big arrogant... Read Full Story

Marketers More Accepting of New Media

Guideline recently asked B2B and B2C marketers to rate the effectiveness of various online marketing tactics. Almost all marketers surveyed used some form of social media. However, business marketers reported more success with podcasts : 21% of B2B vs. 13% of B2C listed podcasts as "effective" 17% of B2B vs. 6% of B2C favored blogs, and 14% of B2B vs. 11% of B2C preferred RSS feeds As you know, I’m a big fan of using Second Life for promotion and it seems B2B marketers are starting to catch... Target Tells Bloggers to Buzz Off

Today the New York Times reported a PR pro from Target told a Blogger the company does not respond to non-traditional media outlets. The story goes something like this: 1. Last week someone from Shaping Youth , a Blog that covers the impact of marketing on children, emailed Target’s PR team about a current ad. 2. The PR pro brushed off the Blogger saying they only talk to “traditional publications that reach our core guests.” The Blogger ran the story/editorial about the ad, along with... Read Full Story

ITV2's Coleen's Real Women or Brands Huge PR Stunt?

Being a student i'm sure it won't come as any suprise to learn that i frequently indulge in some rather trashy TV. One such programme upon which I have become unwittingly hooked is ITV2's Coleen's Real Women. I was initially attracted by the concept of taking everyday people and thrusting them into the limelight of the mainstream modelling industry so they could enjoy their fifteen minutes of fame. Surely this is a selfless gesture from the everyday-scouse-childhood-sweetheart of a football... Read Full Story

Tis the Season to be Giving...

It's holiday time, so let's take a moment to talk about giving. I've always said corporate giving is good PR and good PR is good business. It seems many others are in agreement lately. Cause Marketing Campaigns are everywhere and they are getting excellent results! When a campaign works on me, a PR pro, I know it's good. The other day I caught a commercial showing a girl in Africa sitting by a hut. A couple of school boys run by as a voiceover tells us that girls living in sub-Saharan Africa... Read Full Story

Mark Cuban Bans a Blogger from Maverick's Locker Room

As we continue debating media access for bloggers, an ironic twist has come into play. Mark Cuban , a blogger himself, banned a blogger from the Maverick's locker room for having too much media credibility! Now there is a first! Tim MacMahon, who writes a blog for the Dallas Morning News was denied entry to the Maverick's locker room over the weekend because of a new policy refusing access to writers whose "primary purpose is to blog." On his blog today, Cuban says he's not coming down on... Read Full Story

Tony Stewart Puts Goodyear in a PR Tailspin

"Goodyear can't build a tire worth a crap," said driver Tony Stewart on Sunday at the Atlanta Speed Motorway about new tires the NASCAR sponsor created specifically for the race. "The tires were made with a harder material so they would not wear down, but that made handling difficult,” said Ed Clark, president of Atlanta Motor Speedway. “Issues with the handling made drivers more cautious and the race less exciting and that disappointed fans.” A video of Stewart vowing to “go home and take... Canada discovered Kryptonite first!

In all the excitement of the recent announcement about the discovery of Kryptonite, the Ottawa Citizen reported that a communications snafu in the Canadian government prevented them from releasing a media release at the same time as the British Museum, which subsequently got all the credit. Apparently, everyone had good intentions of doing joint releases before the Privy Council Office (PRC) quashed the release from the Canadian National Research Council (NRC) because the PRC needs five days...
