It had been rumored for months (soon after the initial PS3 slim rumors surfaced) that Sony would be bringing out another PS3 with a 250 GB hard drive. That rumor was turned into truth today via a post at the official US PlayStation Blog.

Xbox LIVE first debuted back in November 2002. Sony had an online service for the PS2, but it was no where near Xbox LIVE. Sony got competitive when it launched the PlayStation Network in November 2006. With exclusive titles and downloadable games for the PSP, Sony’s online service is starting to come into its own. “I don’t think there’s a lot of ‘catch up’ [with XBL] anymore. Sony has announced that Killzone 2 has sold over 1 million copies worldwide.
The publisher touted the sales figures in its response to the March NPD results. “With more than 1 million copies sold worldwide and a truly ‘only on PlayStation’ experience, the hit game has garnered the biggest initial success at retail of any first-party PS3 title to date, and will continue to drive incentive for hardware sales throughout the year.”
