Padma Lakshmi (born September 1, 1970) is a former model best known as the host of TV show "Top Chef." Lakshmi was born in Kerala, India, but spent most of her adolescent life in the United States. She was previously married to Salman Rushdie, and divorced in 2007. Padma, who thought she couldn't have kids because of her endometriosis, announced she was pregnant October 1, 2009, but has yet to reveal who the father is.
