‘Seinfeld’ Actor Becomes a ‘Criminal’

Last week, we reported that Jason Alexander will be returning to primetime comedy to work on Til Death. Unfortunately, he won’t be showing off his acting skills as he’ll be going behind the cameras for an episode of the FOX sitcom.  On the other hand, it looks like we’ll be seeing the 48-year-old actor on our small screens after all since he just signed on to guest star on CBS’ Criminal Minds.

Best known for his role as George Costanza on the hit eponymous series Seinfeld, Jason Alexander has since appeared on a number of TV roles such as Al Harris on Dinosaurs, Tony Kleinman on the CBS sitcom Listen Up! and the title character on the heavily promoted but short-lived ABC sitcom Bob Patterson.  On the big screen, he is credited for How to Go Out on a Date in Queens, The Grand, Pretty Woman, For Better or Worse, and The Last Supper.

Not much has been revealed about the Seinfeld actor’s guest role on Criminal Minds.  However, fans can expect that Alexander will be portraying a role nothing like his Seinfeld character.

“It’s a really crazy role,” show executive producer Ed Bernero told Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello.  “He’s going to come in and turn himself in, but we have no idea who his victims are.  So we have to reverse profile.”

Jason Alexander’s much anticipated Criminal Minds episode is slated to kick off November sweeps.

Heading for its fourth season on September 24, Criminal Minds revolves around adventures of a team of profilers from the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) at Quantico, Virginia. The series stars Joe Mantegna (David Rossi), Paget Brewster (Emily Prentiss), Matthew Gray Gubler (Spencer Reid), Shemar Moore (Derek Morgan), AJ Cook (Jennifer “JJ” Jareau), Kirsten Vangsness (Penelope Garcia) and Thomas Gibson (Aaron “Hotch” Hotchner).
