I have finally finished another papercraft design: a full size Kaonashi mask. Kaonashi (a.k.a. No Face) is a masked, cloaked spirit who feeds on the emotions of others in Hayao Miyazaki's 2001 animated film, Spirited Away. I tried to keep the joints and fold lines to a minimum which can make fitting the parts together tricky if you are not careful with the accuracy of your build. Template Info Read Full Story

I think we're close enough to the holidays now to get into the spirit (though there is no evidence remaining of the unexpected big snowfall we had last week in England), and the last editorial I'm featuring from British Vogue's Fantastic Fashion Fantasy issue is just the one to do it. British artist Su Blackwell created an enchanting Christmas fantasyland with her wonderful book-cut sculptures. See her stunningly exquisite paper dress installation after the editorial pics... Su Blackwell's While You Were Sleeping installation: There is a great interview with Su at My Love for You is a Stampede of Horses, with more examples of ... Read Full Story
Check out the awesome World of Warcraft papercrafts by 27-year-old Montreal, Quebec papercrafter PMF. The artist, who keeps his full name intriguingly concealed, expertly captures the feel of polygonal game monsters and almost makes you think there is photoshop magic going on — though I’d be surprised if there were. Check out PMF’s blog, where [...]

Geoff at BLDGBLOG writes: For his student thesis project at the Bartlett School of Architecture, Thomas Hillier produced an immersive narrative world, complete with origami-filled hand-cut book pages and an elaborate model of the story's architectural landscape. Hillier's project was called The Emperor's Castle and it was inspired by the work of Japanese printmaker Hiroshige. I'm blown away by the intricacy of these models. Hillier's...
