One of the most Libertarian members of Congress The Athens Banner-Herald reported Oct. 23, that US Congressman and Medical Doctor Paul Broun, introduced legislation to partially privatize the Medicare System. The "Options Act," would provide for a Taxpayer Voucher system, and Medical Savings Accounts to take the place of direct government subsidies. From the Banner-Herald : "We've got to fix Medicare," he said. "It's headed in a direction that's unsustainable." He's gone and done it. Or maybe he's just gone. Broun has finally sat on the third rail and put out a picnic. Georgia Rep. Paul Broun is seriously proposing privatizing Medicare. He thinks seniors should just get a voucher and go buy their own health insurance. Great idea because everyone knows insurance companies are standing in line to issue affordable individual coverage to people who have a stack of pill bottles in the pantry. Congressman: Obama Could Use Pandemic To Declare Martial Law Georgia Congressman Paul Broun warned attendees of a town hall event Tuesday Aug 13 that the Obama administration was planning to use a pandemic or a natural disaster to implement martial law in the United States.
