John Costelloe who played Vito Spatafore's gay love interest "Johnny Cakes" Witowski on the HBO hit drama The Sopranos was found dead in his Brooklyn apartment of apparent suicide on December 18, police confirmed yesterday. The 47 year-old firefighter turned actor died of a self-inflicted gunshot to the head on December 16 in the basement of his apartment, The New York Post reports. He was starring in an off-off-broadway revival of "Gang of Seven" at the time.
