It may be just a regular old OTA, but already Jags coach Jack Del Rio is upset with one of his players. That player is two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle John Henderson, who pulled himself out of drills Monday saying that he has a shoulder injury. From the sounds of it, Del Rio isn’t exactly buying the injury that Henderson says he has. “Yeah, it’s disappointing to see him pull himself out quite frankly,” Del Rio said Tuesday. “What he does, that’s up to him. But we have a team out here that’s working hard, that’s committed and I’m not going to slow down ... Read Full Story

Posted by Matt Loede on November 6th, 2008 filed in Opinions , Picks When you look at the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Detroit Lions, can you really put a gauge on what team is in worse shape right now? Of course the 0-8 Lions look like the worse team, but how about the Jags, who last week at one point were down 18 to the Bengals, and after coming back to get within two, couldn’t tie the game in the last minute on a two-point conversion and lost 21-19 to a team that had not won all year. Now they take on the Lions, ... Read Full Story

With the Jags having major issues selling out games and selling tickets, today’s Orlando Sentinel reports that the team may start playing home games in Orlando : Wayne Weaver, the owner of the financially strapped Jacksonville Jaguars, can envision a day not too far down the road when Orlando could become his team’s second home. We’re not just talking about the current setup where Central Florida is designated as a “secondary” television market for the Jaguars. No, we’re talking about the Jags actually coming to Orlando to play football games — real live regular-season NFL games. In a recent interview with the Sentinel, Weaver ... Read Full Story

Following Sunday’s 30-12 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, we were visited by Fred Taylor on our post-game coverage. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. Taylor was candid (as always) in his review of the Jaguars current situation. “We’re a bad team. We have good players, we’re just not a good team,” Taylor said. “[Jack Del Rio] has a great message. In so many ways I agree with him. Obviously its not connecting.” That’s a conclusion that Del Rio came to as well. Sometimes, the message is listened to, but not heard. For whatever reason, the thing that has been Del Rio’s greatest strength ... Read Full Story

JAGUARS ...24 CHIEFS ...21 David Garrard threw for 264 yards, including a 61-yard touchdown to Mike Sims-Walker, to lead Jacksonville. The Jaguars, up and down all season, responded in similar fashion following losses to Arizona and Seattle earlier this season. The latest turnaround after a defeat came after Coach Jack Del Rio ripped his team's defensive effort in a 30-13 loss at the Titans, calling it "insulting, ugly and embarrassing." It...

The Jaguars believe they've figured out a way to get the ball in the hands of running back Maurice Jones-Drew. They'll make what coach Jack Del Rio called "hard ball calls." That means quarterback David Garrard will be told on occasion not to call audibles out of running plays and into passing plays. Garrard changed the play from a run to a pass a few times in the first quarter-and-a-half of the Jaguars' 30-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans on...
