Oh God Help, My Spouse Is Gay or Lesbian!

Many African Americans are perplexed when they discover their husband or wife is gay. Unfortunately, they do not realize God is in that dreadful situation. Although, you maybe shock to find out that your marriage is on the rocks, because your spouse is in a homosexual relationship does not mean that God is not there for you. God is definitely there. Especially in this day and age, when you have black churches who are preaching that it is okay to be a homosexual, it may seem difficult to save your marriage. Unfortunately, there are some ministers who have long preached against same sex lifestyles who are teaming up with the gay movement and may not wish to counsel you. However, there is a way to take authority over your marriage. Do you recall the scripture that says, 'What God has joined together let no man put asunder?' That's for real, no man or woman outside of your marriage has the right to destroy the matrimony between you and your spouse, because it was originally ordained by God. One of the dangers of this era, is simply anything goes in the church and there are no right or wrongs; this is what is ruining marriages inside the family of God. Now, you know that man or woman is looking at your spouse shake his or her butt to the hip hop beat and it's not the holy shout. Let's get real now.

You must be strong my sister or brother. Do not allow this era of the liberal mega church world take authority of how things should be in your marriage. You must follow God's direction and stay in His Word. You must cease any ministry who does not have time to counsel you. Although, many churches are big, it should never be too big to help save your marriage. You should not even be required to pay for counseling sessions. Your tithes and offerings should be enough to support whatever church regularly you attend.

You may think it is okay to cease a church and join a gay church to save your marriage. Be real now. That is definitely going to feed the flesh of your spouse, especially if you already knew they were gay or lesbian, before they met you or just had a weakness to dabble back into that lifestyle. Possibly, your spouse was gay after you joined a supposedly church who is against being a homosexual. Well that's a twist, but God still can save your marriage as you and your spouse refrain from the church world until God leads you where to go, if you yet feel comfortable.

Here are some simple steps to save your marriage, once you discover your spouse is having an affair with the same sex or even with the opposite sex:

Pray right now and say this to the Lord: "God, I come to you right now because you are the Lord of my life. I realize Jesus Christ, your Son died on the Cross for this emotional wound I am feeling right now. I want you to step in and destroy the spirit of lust in my marriage. I rebuke Satan who has been controlling the man or woman I love. I want you to take control over every demonic force that continues to destroy my marriage. I love my husband or wife and I don't want them to go to hell. Save them from the hand of Satan and keep me in your hands. I want you to bond us to your will and Lord, if I have done anything wrong and displeasing in your sight, forgive me. In Jesus Name. I believe you. Amen! (Now, do you know the Lord God heard you? Good. Keep praising and believing him for what you just humbly prayed and watch Him fix it.)
The next thing you need to do, is peacefully ask for a meeting with your mate. Tell him or her what you want and ask if they still desire the marriage. If yes, then you must lead him in the same prayer you just prayed to God. If not, then wait on God to see what His will is while waiting to see if your spouse is going to give you a divorce or just humbly repent and allow God to speak to him or hear; they just may desire to be with you, although they say no. Still if the answer is no, then just separate and move away to give your spouse time. If you feel God saying, the situation is too painful, so move on and divorce, God understands.
If you trust your spouse really means what he or she says about saving the marriage, then you must continue to have prayer meetings with your spouse. It is very important to have a prayer and ask God for strength on a daily basis. If your spouse refuses to continues the process of prayer and is still slipping around with his or her lover, then you know God is not happy with you being unhappy. Separate until your spouse proves seriousness.
If you started this process, then your mate decided to leave his or lover, then peacefully divorce and if he or she admits they desire the marriage and a lover, then-still get a divorce. There is no sense in praying for God to heal your marriage, if your spouse is going to come back and give you a sexual disease, especially if you have already endured one. Wish them well, dust your feet and continue to serve God. Back in the days, the old saints would tell you to just pray until your spouse comes to his senses, these days it is more dangerous to keep that tradition. God understands the changes in every era, so be careful, love yourself and divorce.
If your marriage is healing, then God has definitely joined you two from the very beginning. (Note, if your marriage is not saved, it does not mean that God did not do what he promised, all it possibly means is that you were not suppose to be with that person in the first place; therefore, God yet has a plan designed for your life. Do not give up.)
