Some especially ignorant people are suggesting that Egypt has never contributed to global culture. It might be about time that someone put a list together of the people who lived and worked in Egypt and contributed to world culture, from Archemides, to Ibn Kaldun and Ibn Battuta, Maimonides, to Cafavy, Forester, Durrell and Mahfouz. Perhaps Ursula Lindsey should do it.
