Alpaca’s are native to the Andes of South America they’ve been domisticated for thousands of years with no wild Alpaca’s remaining. The closests living species that are wild is the wild Vicuna. The Moche people of Northern Peru often use Alpaca images in their art. Alpaca’s are less intrusive to the enviroment given their grazing habits unlike sheep that require more acre’s for grazing.
