They are designed for use as an ultra low noise, ultra high gain preamplifier for deepest fringe applications and MATV headend applications.Their very high signal handling also makes them suitable for use as a mast mounted, ultra low noise distribution amplifier for use in small MATV systems. I added this preamp to the outdoor cm 4228hd extreme antenna and went form 40% at the lowest to 100% I recieve all stations at 100% now! I am 38 miles from the transmitter site! I even pull in the low power stations that I didnt get before. Great buy!

 "channel master 7777" 2009-06-21
By turkey hunter (S/E MO)
After purchasing the channel master 7777, installed according to directions, I went from one fuzzy channel to 8 crystal clear channels! Well worth the money. It replaced an old Radio Shack amplifier set up that just didn't do the job.

"It made all the difference in getting DTV channels at 30 miles" 2009-05-02
By S. Bunker
I'll keep this review short and simple.

At 30 miles from the tower, I bought this and connected one part up in the attic, near the DB4 antenna and the other part is plugged in down in the central wiring panel, where one cable goes to the other part of 7777 in the attic and the output cable goes to the Dish OTA tuner (or AV hub in the house).

Without this preamp, the signal (after going from attic, the basement, back to Dish OTA tuner) .... was too weak.

With this preamp, the signal was great 75-95 on all DTV local channels.

I had to (of course) properly point the antenna in the attic, but this unit is the key to it all working for me.

I was originally viewing it as a 'nice to have' option, but after seeing how it worked for me ... mandatory equipment, especially if you live a ways from town.

My only slight complaint is that I wish it had a power LED on it, so you could know when its on.

I like the fact that it has both UHF and VHF inputs, so you don't need to buy a combiner if you have both a UHF and VHF antenna.
