The public is starting to take note of the threat that Internet bullying poses to teenagers after the tragedy involving
Phoebe Prince. Prince was a 15-year-old girl who moved with her family from Ireland to Massachusetts last summer, only to hang herself on January 14.

According to
ABC, it was only after Phoebe's death that her classmates came forward and admitted she'd been bullied constantly via text messages and Facebook. South Hadley Superintendent Gus A. Sayer said, "The real problem now is the texting stuff and the cyberbullying. Some kids can be very mean towards one another using that medium."
Investigations are still being conducted concerning Prince's death. Hundreds of students gathered for a vigil days after Phoebe took her own life, but on a Facebook memorial page dedicated to her memory, some users posted even more nasty comments that were later removed.
