Lion's Club Parade Goes on in Spite of the Rain in Wabasso, Minnesota

I found out Friday night that my old dad was going to be the grand marshall of the Lion's Club parade in the sleepy little town of Wabasso in southwestern Minnesota on Saturday.  So Kasey and Jayvyn and Angie and I headed out to my hometown, population 750,  to celebrate this honor with him.

As luck would have it, it rained.  It rained and rained and rained through the whole darned parade.  But that didn't stop us from enjoying it,  and it looks like some of the units in the parade didn't mind too much either.

My favorite unit in the parade was the Drum Corps.  They were awesome and it was hard to stand still while they played their cadences.  I wasn't the only one who was feeling the beat!

I saw the biggest tractor I've ever seen in my life, pulling something gigantic I wasn't familiar with.  And even though we are in rural Minnesota, the times keep on changing and that includes agriculture.  It sure wasn't my dad's little old Minneapolis Moline taking up most of the street and barely making it around the corners.

We were located at the tail end of the parade and by the time they got this far, some of the little ones were starting to wilt in the rain. They were really pretty good sports.  All in all, we had a great, wet time.
