  Last night, we finally saw what we all wanted.  Some heart shown by the Pittsburgh Steelers team that had previously dropped five straight games to teams they should have beaten without a second thought. But, we also saw a lot of things that we didn't want to see. Things like Tyrone Carter making bonehead play after bonehead play.  Last night's game pretty much cemented my opinion that Carter does not need to be re-signed come this off...  

Depending on how the next two weeks play out, the Packers long, exciting afternoon/evening at Heinz Field will be remembered as a gut punch, a wakeup call, a bump in the road a harbinger of a playoff exit. The bottom line -- the Packers lost a game that was within their grasp because their previously stout defense crumbled at crunch time.  

Steelermania swept over the Tri-State Area and Super Bowl XLIII gave area businesses or residents a financial or emotional boost in February. Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl XLIII championship merchandise was in high demand following the Steelers' defeat over the Arizona Cardinals by a 27-23 score. When a weary Mike Tomlin arrived home from the Steelers' 37-36 victory over the Packers, 8-year-old Dino popped the same question to his dad that much of Pittsburgh was asking. Why did you try that onside kick? According to the Steelers coach, his son got the politically incorrect answer. "I just told him to be quiet," Tomlin said, laughing, on Tuesday.  

Wide receiver Joey Galloway has been added to the Pittsburgh Steelers' roster as the replacement for Limas Sweed. Sweed was placed on injured reserve Monday with a non-football related illness. Coach Mike Tomlin would not reveal any details of Sweed's problem Tuesday. Galloway was cut by New England earlier this season.
