Celebrate the Bicycle With An EcoActivist Button
The price of a barrel of oil is above $125 dollars. The cost of a gallon of gasoline is almost four dollars. Global warming, fueled by carbon emissions from gasoline engines, is accelerating.
It’s a good time to consider alternatives to America’s culture of the automobile. It’s time to consider the bicycle.
There’s no need for a gym to get a good lower-body workout. The bicycle helps a person burn calories even as they put miles of road behind them. Bicycling also encourages people to reconnect with businesses and activities close to them, revitalizing the local community as a meaningful idea.
This button, also found in the progressive morality section of the Irregular Button Shop, can be considered as a political button in as much as riding a bicycle is a political act, a statement of the rededication of the USA to sustainable energy, such as the energy contained in our own leg muscles.
Celebrate the bicycle, and your own power.
