PCOS stands for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome ( Formerly called: Stein-Leventhal Syndrome or Sclerotic Ovary Disease). Sometimes called PCOD, “D” for disease. It is in the family with Syndrome X would be the “Child of Diabetes" since both men and women can develop Syndrome X.

PCOS is a serious disorder effecting 6 to 10% of all females as young as 5 years old. Many don’t know they have it until they start to go through infertility treatments and even then they may not get diagnosed. Sadly, many PCOSers never get diagnosed. Women with PCOS need to see ENDOCRINOLOGISTS; but it is often mistaken for a gynecological problem.
