About the Ponahalo Diamonds

The Ponahalo diamonds were discovered in 2005. They are the largest diamonds ever found in the De Beers Venetia mine. Jonathan Oppenheimer, of the De Beers Group. gave the diamonds their name based on the tribal language spoken by the Venda tribe in the area of South Africa where the diamonds were mined.  Ponahalo translates to “vision.”Read Full Story
