Mechanically it is notable for being rear engined and, until the introduction of the all-new Type 996 in 1999, air-cooled.
The 2010 911 Turbo features an all-new 3.8-litre bi-turbo direct injection flat-six that makes 500 horsepower, 20 more than its predecessor, reports contributor, Peter Bleakney. “It shaves 10 seconds off the previous car’s Nurburgring lap time,” he says.

So, the 911 is a high performance sports car, and the GT3 is a high performance version of the 911, and the RS is a high performance version of the GT3, and the GT2 is a higher performance version than the GT3, but is different than the RS.
