Mutharika critic fired, forms pressure group
Malawi Politics ReporterBLANTYRE, Oct 30, 2009 (MalawiPolitics)-Harry Mkandawire, a critic of Malawi's President President Bingu wa Mutharika, has been given the boot by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) weeks after he wrote a letter critical of the president's leadership style."I can confirm that the party has decided to expel him," DPP secretary general Henry Chimunthu Banda was quoted by the Daily Times as saying. He however did not give reasons why Mkandawire, who was deputy chief of political affairs in the DPP, was sacked.
