Spain Donates EC-135 Eurocopter to Panama

LA Critica - Spain donated an EC-135 Eurocopter to the government of Panama during an encounter between Martin Torrijos and the Minister of the Interior of Spain, Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba. In addition to the aircraft, Spain will offer specialized technical training for the crew members and mechanics who will be assigned to the helicopter. During their meeting Torrijos and Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba discussed subjects related to the cooperation with Spain on matters of security, especially with regards to equipment and training. Editor's Comments: I knew I had not seen that aircraft before. On 19 May 2008 I went up to La Chorrera where Martin Torrijos was inspecting the work being done on a new water treatment plant. Torrijos arrived in this new EC-135, freshly painted with registration number "HP-9999". It's the same aircraft that they are talking about in this article. Apparently, Torrijos is going to be using this aircraft as his personal helicopter to move about the country.

Un helicóptero modelo EC-135 fue cedido por el gobierno español a Panamá, durante un encuentro entre el presidente de la República Martín Torrijos y el ministro de Interior de España, Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba.

Además de la aeronave España ofrecerá entrenamiento técnico especializado para los miembros de la tripulación y mecánicos que serán asignados a este helicóptero.

Durante su encuentro Torrijos y Pérez Rubalcaba trataron temas relativos a la cooperación española en materia de seguridad, especialmente en equipamiento y entrenamiento.
