A Primal Quest community portal. News, info, and updates on Primal Quest 2006.

Here is how Primal Quest describes itself:
"The ultimate test of human endurance, selfless teamwork, and relentless determination – Primal Quest is the world's toughest Expedition Adventure Race.

Covering over 800km and lasting up to 10 days, co-ed teams of four travel non-stop using only a map and compass to navigate this grueling and unforgiving course. Adventurers from all over the world run, bike, paddle and traverse the rugged terrain in the quest to reach the finish line. For all teams, to simply complete Primal Quest is a remarkable achievement and the culmination of an incredible journey. For the exceptional few who are lucky enough to win Primal Quest, they are recognized as the best in the sport."

I found a little info on the filming crew at missoulian.com : Barrett Productions, a Missoula production company that specializes in outdoors, sports and adventure films, sent 42 employees to the Utah desert last June, armed with 22 high-definition cameras to record the marathon event, which will be broadcast Monday through Thursday on ESPN 2, and Saturday on ABC. “This isn't a reality series,” said John Barrett, president of Barrett Productions. “This isn't contrived, like ... Adventure World Magazine has another great webisode from this year's Primal Quest Badlands, that was held in South Dakota this past August. In this episode, the teams have completed the climbing course, and we catch up with them in a transition area, where we see them moving from being on foot back to the bikes.
