PRINCESS ANNE -- The director of the town's Main Street program is scheduled to report on two initiatives that recently received statewide recognition when the Town Commissioners meet tonight for the monthly town meeting.  

A photo of the wreck of the HMS Royal Oak, taken by Underwater Photography Magazine editor and Wetpixel member Peter Rowlands was presented to HRH Princess Anne to mark the 70th Anniversary of its sinking. The Royal Oak was torpedoed, while at anchor in Scapa Flow, by a German submarine U-47 in 1939, with the loss of 833 lives. PRINCESS ANNE -- In the wake of recent criticism about fiscal responsibility of elected officials and the town's borrowing of $300,000 to help cover operating expenses, the town gets a heads up today on the state of accounting affairs.  

Princess Anne girls volleyball coach Craig Dooren was confident his team could weather the graduation of two-time All-Tidewater performer Suzanne Lasseigne this season. The presence of sophomore outside hitter Gaby Smith was a major reason for his confidence.  

PRINCESS ANNE -- Barrack commanders and trooper supervisors across Maryland are underscoring professional conduct and the Maryland State Police agency's intolerance of race-based treatment when dealing with the public after a black woman in Princess Anne handed authorities a cell phone voice message recording of an MSP criminal investigator making a racial slur.
