Prison Break: Season 4 DVD Review

Since it started airing in 2005, Prison Break was welcomed by critics with rave reviews and started a cult following. However, lackluster ratings in a time where networks are being highly competitive has lead Fox to cancel the series after a mere four seasons. Prison Break: Season 4 released on DVD June 2nd from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

The idea behind Prison break is that Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) has been wrongly convicted and imprisoned for killing the Vice President's brother. Lincoln's own brother Michael (Wentworth Miller) has stopped everything and devoted his life to creating an elaborate scheme to get his brother out of prison because he completely believes in Lincoln's innocence, who is place on death row. Michael commits armed robbery in order to also be placed in the same prison and help hatch their scheme.

Season Four takes us on a crazy roller coaster of events that begins with Michael being distraught over Sara's murder. Sara was the nurse in the prison infirmary that had helped him. Well, it turns out that she is not dead. Lincoln and Michael have been enlisted by several people throughout the season to take down "The Company," which was the group of people who were actually behind the original murder that Lincoln was imprisoned for. They have been trying desperately to keep Lincoln in prison and have no problem "getting rid of" the people that get in their way. At one point, Michael and Lincoln's mother gets involved in their life, and things seem to become even harder and more complicated for them after that.

If you have not watched the previous three seasons, you will find yourself very confused. So, I highly suggest you rent them first! Prison Break is similar to 24 in that it is jam packed with action, conspiracies, crazy plot twists and mind blowing storylines. If this kind of thing is up your alley, Prison Break is definitely for you! Personally, I am not that much into those sort of things, so I found it a bit boring at some points, which might be why it lost viewers. The original concept was fabulous, but all the twists and turns and new information kind of made me lose interest.
