This Zine is Peoples guide to arguably the "Greatest Rap Music Group of All Times", PE.
A Public Enemy guide with photos, videos, links, feeds, news, comments, group blog and forum. Also providing the latest news on our Freedom Fighters (PP and POW) as the PE logo represents.
Public Enemy, better known by fans as PE, is a seminal hip hop group from Long Island, New York known for their socio-politically conscious lyrics, criticism of mainstream /coporate media and active interest in the issues and concerns of the African American community. Their latest LP, a collection of unreleased tracks, "Beats and Places," was released on the 8th of November 2005.
They will be inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame in 2007.
They are ranked #44 on Rolling Stone magazine's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time list and in the near future, should be one of the first rap artists inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Jena 6 Updates and Some Perspective
Some of you may have already heard about the Jena 6 case currently going on Louisiana. Although it has not received any press coverage, some radio personalities have stepped up to make sure that it is being covered and are taking a stand for these 6 black high school boys in Louisiana. They have been charged with attempted murder by use of a tennis shoe against some white students who were not at all injured in this school yard fight. These young men are facing up to 100 years in prison. You can go online to get more detailed information about the
case.
A petition is on the move to request an investigation into the discrimination of the trial as well as other incidents leading up to the trial. PLEASE will you take the time to circulate this email to everyone you know. If we can send jokes and youtube messages to our friends I'm sure we can take 2 minutes to sign the petition and forward it on to others. To anyone who is a member of a bikers club, Michael Baisden from 94.5 KSOL is organizing and petitioning all biker clubs to come together to ride out to the rally in Louisiana. If you're interested, you can go to his website for more information. The Steve Harvey Morning Show is also petitioning entertainers and groups to also join in the support.

This is bull. It is a completely biased view of the incident. These boys were already involved in criminal activities and should have been in jail before this ever happened. What is sad that the facts would be so distorted to try to portray them as discrimination. The charges against these boys should NEVER have been reduced for their trials. Six boys attacking one unconcious boy SHOULD be seen as a crime. It shouldn't be viewed as injustice to punish them for a crime. People are to eager to scream racism when a black boy is charged for assaulting a white boy and these are the same people who wouldn't bat an eye if a white boy got charged for assaulting a black. Racism does happen in this country but ridiculous protests like this one undermine the actual racist crimes. Protest real cases of racism. Do not distort an obvious crime just to suit your purpose. It lowers all of you to the level of the racists who start the real trouble. Blacks are just as capable of racism as whites and is just as frequent but ignored completely.

Most every sane Black person knows--they didn't whip his ass good enough..cause he got out the hospital and went to a party the same night. On the morning of October 13, 2004 Bernard C. Burden was found hung from a tree in the yard of a white family. His feet were touching the ground with his knees bent. The Coroner Wimp Pierce ruled it a suicide. There was a house full of people that night and no Police Investigation was done. No one was charged as suspects in a possible homicide despite the numerous contradictions. Now we all know if that was a white man found hanging in the yard of a black family, everyone would have been taken downtown for questioning or WORSE. We know Bernard was lynched. WE DEMAND JUSTICE!!!
After 4 months the GBI has completed their investigation and have also ruled this a suicide and have closed the case. They claim to have performed a Toxicology Test to check Bernard for drugs and their results show that he had no drugs in his system. 
However this contradicts the statement given by 2 people in the house that state that they, including Bernard, were smoking marijuana earlier that day. Also, Bernard was on prescription drugs, and that supposedly didn't show up in his system either...
I feel sUch as all of the charges should be dropped and Bell should be released and the white boys hould be sent to jail for 20+ years cause they are the ones who hung the nooses, and even if it was a SCHOOL PRANK you dont do things like that. Hanging a noose on a tree branch at school after the black kids have sat underneath that tree yesterday and it wasn't there the day they sat under the tree is an INSULT TO AFRICAN-AMERICANS children or adults it doesnt matter how old you are that is an INSULT and those white kids know that already. My opinion is that if it was the black kids who hung those nooses for the white kids they would have gotten EXPELLED from school and SENT TO JAIL. So let's summarize. Some white kids threaten to lynch some black kids by hanging 3 noose from a tree, which they called the "tree of knowledge", after the Brothers sat under the tree. "In the last decades of the nineteenth century, the lynching of Black people in the Southern and border states became an institutionalized method used by whites to terrorize Blacks and maintain white supremacy. In the South, during the period 1880 to 1940, there was deep-seated and all-pervading hatred and fear of the Negro which led white mobs to turn to “lynch law” as a means of social control. Lynchings—open public murders of individuals suspected of crime conceived and carried out more or less spontaneously by a mob—seem to have been an American invention. In Lynch-Law, the first scholarly investigation of lynching, written in 1905, author James E. Cutler stated that “lynching is a criminal practice which is peculiar to the United States.”
Most of the lynchings were by hanging or shooting, or both. However, many were of a more hideous nature—burning at the stake, maiming, dismemberment, castration, and other brutal methods of physical torture. Lynching therefore was a cruel combination of racism and sadism, which was utilized primarily to sustain the caste system in the South. Many white people believed that Negroes could only be controlled by fear. To them, lynching was seen as the most effective means of control.
There are three major sources of lynching statistics. None cover the complete history of lynching in America. Prior to 1882, no reliable statistics of lynchings were recorded. In that year, the Chicago Tribune first began to take systematic account of lynchings. Shortly thereafter, in 1892, Tuskegee Institute began to make a systematic collection and tabulation of lynching statistics. Beginning in 1912, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People kept an independent record of lynchings..."

A photograph taken by I-Reporter Casanova Love shows a noose hanging from a red pickup.
Alexandria is less than an hour away from Jena, Louisiana, and was a staging area Thursday for protesters who went to the smaller town to demonstrate against the treatment of six black teens known as the "Jena 6" in racially charged incidents.
Police say the 18-year-old driver of the truck was charged with driving while intoxicated and inciting to riot and also may be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor -- the 16-year-old passenger.
As police were questioning the driver, he said he had an unloaded rifle in the back, which police found. They also found a set of brass knuckles in the cup holder on the dashboard, according to the police report.
The passenger told police he and his family are in the Ku Klux Klan, the police report said. He also said he had tied the nooses and that the brass knuckles belonged to him, the report said. Video Watch what police found on the truck »
At least one of the nooses was made out of an extension cord, according to the police report.

The police report says a crowd of about 200 people, mostly African-Americans, watched the arrest take place.
Roy said the incident is "not indicative" of Alexandria and that local authorities will look into the matter "completely, thoroughly and transparently."
A photograph of the truck was sent to CNN by Casanova Love, 26, who said he's in the U.S. Navy. He's visiting his family in Louisiana.
Love said he was standing outside a club with some friends Thursday night when he saw the red pickup drive by slowly with two nooses hanging from it.
He said the truck continued up the street and passed by a large group of Jena 6 protesters standing outside a bus stop. Police then pulled over the vehicle.
Love explained why he sent the photo to CNN: "People need to see this. It's 2007, and we still have fools acting like it's 1960."
State police estimated at least 15,000 people gathered in Jena on Thursday to protest what they consider unequal punishments meted out in recent racially charged cases.advertisement
One involved the hanging of nooses from a tree a day after black students sat under what had been an informal gathering place for white students. The students involved were suspended from school for a brief time.
Another was the beating of a white student that resulted in six black teens facing charges that include aggravated second-degree battery.

What is racial tension anyway. Does it have eyes? Does it have a color in the first place?
My point here is that I am of color and I can see the judge went a little overboard, but the facts are that the kids did wrong and should be punished. I am sorry hearing about race it should be a moot issue in the world , but the other so called big shot people of color such as Opera, Jessie and Al to name a few always seem to find something like this and take the side of color every last time. It doesnt seem to matter the crime. They jump on that bandwagon and ride it just to get an ego trip or until the wheels fall off.
Now did the white boys do any better? Well those nooses aren't the law of the land anymore, but we are in a cival society and they got punished. Now on the other case. These young men went vigalanty on this white young man and beat the hell out of him. Should these guys get the death penalty? Well no, but they shouldn't get a smack on the wrist either.
Racial tension in itself is a 2 sided sword. It got OJ a set of keys Just so a few lawers could get a moment in the sun and Johnny did.
It is like in the 70's "that niggers crazy" " There were more niggers in there then a Tarzan movie". I am starting to understand reading XB's comments that he is a culprit of what I am trying to say.
We have to be accountable and look in the mirror. Not just to see color , but to see how we are just passing things on to the next generation.
It is like the Michael Vick incident. The NAACP butts in. Oh ok , but we think you white folk should give him his job back when he gets out of the joint.
