ALLENTOWN - A former dog breeder will go to trial on animal-cruelty charges after withdrawing his guilty plea. Derbe Eckhart's request to withdraw his plea was granted yesterday by Lehigh County Judge Robert L. Steinberg. Eckhart was jailed after Steinberg increased his bail to $25,000. Steinberg also ordered him to quit working with animals.
