Don't hold me to it, but I think Quentin Tarantino does this kind of thing rather frequently. The Inglourious Basterds writer-director has released his personal list of the year's best movies, via an interview with Heat Vision Blog , and the list does not include his own film, even though it should. I mean, he only has eight on the list, so why not throw it in there at number nine?

Matrix star Laurence Fishburne said he doesn’t regret turning down a role in Pulp Fiction as the part wasn’t for him.
The 48-year-old CSI actor admitted that director Quentin Tarantino wrote Samuel L Jackson’s role in the flick for him but he turned it down.
