The science-fiction blockbuster "Avatar" has earned James Cameron his latest nomination for the top honor from the Directors Guild of America. Cameron won the guild prize 12 years ago for "Titanic." Also nominated this year are Kathryn Bigelow for "The Hurt Locker," Lee Daniels for "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire," Jason Reitman for "Up in the Air" and Quentin Tarantino for "Inglourious Basterds." It's the second DGA honor for Tarantino, who also was nominated for 1994's "Pulp Fiction." Bigelow, Daniels and Reitman are first-time nominees. French actress Marion Cotillard and director Quentin Tarantino are to receive top honours at the Palm Springs Film Festival in California. Cotillard, who was previously feted at the event in 2008 for her role in La Vie En Rose, will take home the best actress prize for her performance in movie-musical Nine.
